Q: What's Moo-Jew Comedy?
A: Jewish comedians
  performing at Christmas time
  at a Chinese Restaurant.

Has a new Vermont Jewish Christmas time tradition taken hold? Any respectable Jew would clearly answer, "And why not?"

Ancient Hebrew texts and any Rabbi worth his or her salt will confirm that Jews have congregated for centuries at Chinese restaurants on Christmas Eve. Moo-Jew Comedy thus provides comedy in Jews' natural habitat. "Why should anyone have to schlep to a comedy show, when we can bring it right to them?" shrugged Lorber.

Non-Jews are welcome to Moo-Jew Comedy, especially loud ones. Worried that some non-Jewish audience members might miss a joke or two, Lorber has a plan, "We'll have Jewish interpreters who will shrug after each joke and say, 'You should have come last year.'"

In addition to featuring Vermont-based Lorber, Moo-Jew Comedy 2008 stars top comedians from New York:

Ophira Eisenberg (New York City) has appeared on Comedy Central's Premium Blend and Fresh Faces of Comedy, VH-1's Best Week Ever and All Access, E! Channel, the Oxygen Network, and the Discovery Channel. She also had her own ½ hour comedy special for CTV’s Comedy Now!

Myq Kaplan (New York City) is ratcheting up awards at Comedy Central, Seattle's International Comedy Competition, Boston's Comedy Festival, and elsewhere.
Tickets are $50 and include a four-course dinner (vegetarian options, no MSG), plus all the comedy you can eat. It all takes place at the Asian Bistro at 121 Connor Way, Williston, VT, 05495. Price includes tax and tip, which qualifies as "such a deal." Dinner starts promptly at 8-ish.

This year Chanukah, Christmas, and Moo-Jew Comedy share the same week. We'll be celebrating Chanukah, as we light the candles. We'll also honor the miracle of Chanukah, when one night's oil lasted for eight nights. To do that, Moo-Jew Comedy will be donating a portion of each ticket to Project Warmth, to bring heat and comfort to the homes of needy Vermonters.

Our Moo-Jew Comedians from NY are staying here (you should, too):
