Q: What's Moo-Jew Comedy?
A: Jewish comedians
  at a Chinese Restaurant
  at Xmas time.

Has a new Vermont Jewish Xmas-time tradition taken hold? Any respectable Jew would clearly answer, "And why not?"

Ancient Hebrew texts and any Rabbi worth his or her salt will confirm that Jews have congregated for centuries at Chinese restaurants on Xmas Eve. Moo-Jew Comedy thus provides comedy in Jews' natural habitat. "Why should anyone have to schlep to a comedy show, when we can bring it right to them?" shrugged Lorber.

Non-Jews are welcome to Moo-Jew Comedy, especially loud ones. Worried that some non-Jewish audience members might miss a joke or two, Lorber has a plan, "We'll have Jewish interpreters who will shrug after each joke and say, 'You should have come last year.'"

"Last year's Moo-Jew Comedy was sold out. We literally had to turn away dozens of people at the door," bemoaned Jason P. Lorber, Moo-Jew Comedy producer, comedian, and eggroll aficionado. "Let's hope this year that folks buy their tickets early. Haven't we suffered enough already?"

In addition to featuring Vermont-based Lorber, Moo-Jew Comedy 2007 stars top comedians from New York and Boston:

Dan Hirshon (New York City), though incapable of doing his own laundry, continues to leave audiences in hysterics, including recently as a finalist in the Las Vegas Comedy Festival, on New England Cable News, on radio, throughout New England, and even in a stint in South Africa.

Myq Kaplan (Boston) is ratcheting up awards at Comedy Central, Seattle's International Comedy Competition, Boston's Comedy Festival, and elsewhere.
Tickets are $45 and include a four-course dinner (vegetarian options available), plus all the comedy you can eat. It all takes place at the Asian Bistro at 121 Connor Way, Williston, VT, 05495. Price includes tax and tip, which qualifies as "such a deal." Dinner starts promptly at 8-ish.
